Ty Butterfield

Ty Butterfield is the President of Mel Butterfield & Son Insurance Agency, Inc. He is the third generation of the family owned business. Ty began his insurance career in 1978 after graduating from Miami University (OH), and has been serving the Lima and surrounding area for over 45 years. He purchased the agency from his father Joe in 1992. Ty sets the standard in the agency by specializing in service to our clients. Ty specializes in Auto, Home, & small business insurance in the city of Lima, Allen County, and the surround areas.

Paul Butterfield

Paul joined the Butterfield Agency in May 2008 to become the fourth generation in the family business. He graduated from Miami University (OH) in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and became a licensed “Property & Casualty” insurance agent soon after. In 2011, he earned his life insurance license as well. In 2013, Paul received the distinguished designation of CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor), which he still actively maintains.

Paul attended Bath High School and graduated in 2004. He played football, ice hockey, and baseball throughout high school and played on the Miami Club Baseball team throughout college.

Paul has a wife (Suzanne) who also helps out at the office on a part-time basis & 4 kids at home. Previously, he was an assistant varsity football coach for 12 years at Bath High School & he now enjoys helping coach youth sports and his own kids’ activities.

Paul is proud to be a part of the family business and strives to continue Butterfield’s excellent customer service long into the future.

Chrystal Wise

“Chrys” joined the Butterfield Agency in 1988. She received her Property & Casualty insurance license in 1990. Chrys handles the agency accounting and her primary focus is currently with commercial lines (small business insurance), including farm properties.

During her career at the agency, she has worked in every aspect of the insurance business. Chrys is a 1983 graduate of Lima Senior High School and in 1988 she received an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern Business College.

Cynthia Kennedy

Cynthia started her insurance career with The Butterfield Insurance Agency in October 2000. She obtained her Property and Casualty license in 2004. Cynthia assists with claims in the agency by working with clients, contractors, body shops, and adjusters to settle claims efficiently.

She is also knowledgeable in Commercial and Personal Lines Products and is fundamental in processing policy changes and renewals. Cynthia is a 1998 graduate of Elida High School. She furthered her education at Lima Technical College where she studied Legal Assisting and received an Associate’s Degree of Applied Business. She currently lives in Wapakoneta with her family.

Stephanie Craig

Stephanie started her insurance career in 1998, obtaining her “Property & Casualty” license in 2001 and  “Life and Health” licenses in 2012 .   She rejoined the Butterfield Agency in February 2024.  Stephanie spends most of her time in the agency focusing primarily on personal lines and assisting clients with claims process.  Stephanie graduated from Wapakoneta High School and obtained an associate’s degree in Banking & Finance from the James A Rhodes college in Lima.  She currently lives in Auglaize County with her husband and two sons.  She is a recent Nonie to a new grandbaby, whom she adores very much.
